Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms J. Cooper

These classes will be building on the skills developed in Years 9 and 10 and will focus on becoming familiar with the standards needed in later years for continuing with English at NCEA Level 2 and for attending university. The course is mainly based on critical analysis of written texts and advancing writing skills.

Recommended Entry Criteria

Level 1 English is compulsory in Year 11.  It is structured into courses to suit students' current skill level and future needs.  Not all of the listed Standards will be covered - choices will be negotiated with the class teacher.

Teacher consultation and guidance at course selection time will be vital.
