Our youth need knowledge and skills to help them make good money decisions at each life stage. Accounting helps them to do this and enables students to develop financial capability skills to manage the financial affairs of individuals, communities and businesses. Students will study how households make financial decisions and how to best manage their cash, the life of business transactions, e.g. the sale of goods, the payment of expenses, how transactions are processed and reported. These are all useful skills for the self-employed or those wanting to become a business manager.
Note: Not all of the listed Standards will be covered – choices will be made in negotiation with the class teacher.
