Year 9 Performing Arts Dance

Course Description

This subject will focus on developing basic skills in drama and movement. It is intended to lay the groundwork for more advanced senior performance studies. Students will gain practical experience through various techniques including theatre sports, script work, vocal production work, choreographed movement and improvisation. The course will also include elements of the history of theatre and dance. Students need an open mind, a readiness to accept what is offered by other members of the class, and a willingness to perform.

 Two strands are offered and students can choose:

  • Performing Arts majoring in Drama
  • Performing Arts majoring in Dance


Students may only study one course.



At time of compiling courses for 2021 every effort has been made to ensure the information contained online is accurate.  However, it is possible that some course/assessment structures will be subject to change.

All courses are dependent on student numbers and staffing. Students will be advised if the school is unable to provide the subjects they select.
