Level 3 Mechanical Engineering
Course Description
This course builds on the skills and knowledge gained at Level 2 providing opportunities for students to build their own engineering product. Past projects have included mini-motorbikes, drift trikes and radio-controlled models. We will use unit standards offered by Competenz which assess practical skills in machining and fabrication. Optional Achievement standards are offered to those students who have completed Level 2 Achievement standards elsewhere in Technology/Design & Visual Communication to enable course endorsement. This course works well for Technology students wanting to construct the mechanical elements of a larger design project.
