Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms M. Stuart.
This course continues to develop the knowledge and understanding of the Māori language, culture and tikanga. Students will be able to comprehend instructional writing and extend their knowledge of writing conventions. Students have the opportunity to represent Waimea College at Ngā Manu Kōrero (Regional Māori Speech Competitions). Students may have the opportunity to gain credits using te reo Māori and Tikanga Unit Standards.
** Depending on class sizes, some senior Language classes maybe by correspondence or combined with another year level.
Recommended Entry Criteria
Level 1 Te Reo Maori.
