Level 1 Technology
Course Description
This course will suit students who like computers and building machines and who want to understand how to make them stronger, faster and more efficient. They will also be interested in using professional engineering software to test their concepts. Computer generated models will be brought to life with advanced prototyping techniques such as laser cutting, 3D printing and electrical actuators.
Note: This course has the same assessments as Level 1 Materials Technology Textiles and Level 1 Materials Technology Furniture. If students choose to study two of these courses, some alternative standards may be available. If not, the credits attained are only counted once.
Recommended Entry Criteria
Year 10 Technology, Year 10 Materials Technology Furniture or Year 10 Mechanical Engineering, Year 10 Design & Visual Communication, or see HOD.
