Year 11 Information

Information for Year 11 Students

All students in Year 11 will need to choose a total of six subjects.

  •  Your course must include:
  1. English: All students will study English.  Students will choose one of the following options after discussion with their Year 10 English teacher.  You can choose between English, and English Literacy.
  2. Mathematics:    All students will study Mathematics.  Students will choose one of the following options after discussion with their Year 10 Mathematics teacher.  You can choose between Mathematics and Mathematics Numeracy.
  3. The remaining four subjects should be chosen so that the student has a broad course that meets the requirements of the National Curriculum.  College staff will check the chosen course, and try to ensure that it is appropriate to the student, and that it meets all requirements.  Most students will be required to choose their four subjects from at least three different optional curriculum areas on the subject choice sheet.

All courses are dependent on student numbers and staffing. Students will be advised if the school is unable to provide the subjects they select.

Note:  If a course is over-subscribed, students will be required to take part in a selection process.
